Mountain Pimento Palm Tree

Schippia concolor is a medium-sized palm species 16-33′ tall and a rather slow growing palm as well. It is native to Belize and Guatemala and the only species of the genus Schippia. It is a slender single trunk with fan-shaped (palmate) fronds. The flowers are very attractive for a palm tree. They are pure white and rather fluffy in appearance. The fruit ripens with a white outer skin and is rather large at 1″ in diameter.
