Sanchezia nobilis
A very attractive small shrub for the shade garden. There really is not a common name for this plant pronounced, SAN-cheh-see-ah. It is named for the Spanish botanist Jose Sanchez and is native to moist tropical areas of South and Central America. This shade tolerant shrub can grow to 3-4 feet high and wide. Its foliage is very decorative with yellow veins throughout large dark green leaves. The flowers are also very attractive with bright yellow tubular blooms protruding from dark pink bracts. Hummingbirds and butterflies are attracted to its flowers.
Richard Lyons Nursery currently has this plant in stock.
